arbcombo -- GTAP Model Used for ARB Indirect Land Use Change (ILUC) Analysis Presented in September 29, 2014, Workshop Now Posted on Purdue Website
Posted: 03 Oct 2014 14:57:01
Purdue University has posted the GTAP model used by ARB staff to develop ILUC values presented at the September 29, 2014, Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) workshop. The GTAP model is available at the Purdue University link: https://www.gtap.agecon.purdue.edu/resources/res_display.asp?RecordID=4577 A detailed explanation of GTAP modeling runs by ARB for the September 29, 2014, LCFS workshop is available at the ARB website. http://www.arb.ca.gov/fuels/lcfs/lcfs_meetings/lcfs_meetings.htm To facilitate integrating GTAP land cover outputs into the AEZ-EF model, staff has provided a spreadsheet “Sample_GTAP_results_v7.xlsx” and a program written in GEMPACK program called “LUC.zip” that generates a file with the required results in the proper format for copying into “Sample_GTAP_results_v7.xlsx”. The two files can be downloaded from the ARB website shown above. The Agro-Ecological Zone-Emissions Factor (AEZ-EF) Report and AEZ-EF Model have previously been posted, under the “March 11, 2014” Public Workshop heading, on the ARB website shown above. If you have questions, please contact John Courtis at jcourtis@arb.ca.gov, or via telephone at (916) 323-2661. The Low Carbon Fuel Standard, a regulation to reduce the carbon intensity of fuels sold in California ten percent by 2020, is one of the measures adopted by the California Air Resources Board, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Sections 38500-38599 (AB 32) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in California. It is designed to help clean the air, protect the environment, and drive the development of clean, low-carbon fuels. California is in a drought emergency.
