Mail-Out #MSC 15-2 describes the most recent approved revisions
to the TIMBER Supplemental Documents.

These changes increase funding opportunities by allowing a one-,
two-, or three-year surplus period, extending engine model year
eligibility to 2006 and older, and simplifying inspection
requirements.  These changes also address many district concerns
expressed during TIMBER Workgroups, clarify eligibility
requirements for compliant fleets consistent with Board
priorities, and correct minor inconsistencies and typographical
errors.  These revisions are applicable to TIMBER projects funded
after January 1, 2015.  The revised supplemental documents are

Background:  The TIMBER program is a streamlined funding option
for on-road heavy-duty log truck replacements consistent with the
On-Road Heavy-Duty Vehicles Fleet Modernization chapter of the
2011 Carl Moyer Program guidelines.  The goal of the TIMBER
program is to provide incentive funding opportunities to
encourage early action by fleets utilizing the Truck and Bus
Regulation log truck phase-in option.
