fuel-containers -- Portable Fuel Container Workshop Notice

Posted: 21 Apr 2015 14:44:47
The Air Resources Board (ARB or Board) invites you to participate
in a public workshop to learn about updates to the ARB portable
fuel container (PFC) regulation, certification procedure, and
test procedures, including the use of 10 percent ethanol fuel to
conduct certification testing. The proposed changes, which are
expected to take effect in 2017, will promote harmonization with
the U.S. EPA PFC regulation. The workshop will consist of a
presentation by staff lasting approximately 30 minutes, followed
by a question and answer session.

The workshop will be held at the following location and time:

Date: May 12, 2015
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Location: ARB, Monitoring and Laboratory Division
1927 13th Street, 1st Floor Conference Room Sacramento,
California 95811

The workshop agenda, call-in details, and an electronic copy of
the staff presentation will be posted by May 11 on ARB’s website
at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/consprod/fuel-containers/pfc/pfc.htm.

Background: ARB’s portable fuel container regulation was adopted
in 1999 and amended in 2005. Subsequent to the 2005 amendment,
staff has identified the need to update the portable fuel
container regulation to match certification fuel with
commercially available pump fuel containing 10 percent ethanol;
harmonize, where appropriate, with the U.S. EPA portable fuel
container regulation; and clarify and streamline certification
and test procedures.

If you cannot attend the workshop, and have technical comments or
questions regarding the content that will be discussed, please

angus.macpherson@arb.ca.gov or Matthew Holmes at (916) 322-8913
or via email at matthew.holmes@arb.ca.gov. Thank you for your
interest in this program.
