Attention Small Business Owners and Working Lands Enterprises:

USDA Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Grants Available
DEADLINE: May 2nd
.

The USDA is seeking additional grant applications for its Rural
Energy for America Program – a grant program that can provide up
to 25 percent of the funding for an energy efficiency upgrade or
renewable energy installation for your small business. USDA
Rural Development’s Vermont and New Hampshire office reports that
businesses seeking less than $20,000 in grant money should apply
immediately, as of April 26th the office does not have
applications on hand to spend the reserved funding for smaller
projects. Typical projects include lighting efficiency upgrades,
solar panel installations, maple sap reverse osmosis machines,
milk chillers, manure digesters and woody biomass furnaces/modern
wood heat installations.

ATTENTION WORKING LAND ENTERPRISES: A special reminder that the
production of wood pellets and wood chips is considered an
eligible use for the REAP program. Grant funds may be used to
purchase wood chip or wood pellet manufacturing equipment (such
as a wood chipper).
