Atmospheric carbon dioxide just reached a huge record high. The
amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere reached a new record
in May. It also increased more in a single year than it has since
we began to monitor it in the late 1950s — something that we can
mostly attribute to the burning of fossil fuels, plus a little
nudge from El Niño. The average carbon dioxide concentration in
May was 407.7 parts per million…

Salton Sea's 'rotten egg' stench is back. The stench is back. An
odor advisory has been issued for the Coachella Valley due to
elevated levels of hydrogen sulfide coming from the Salton Sea,
according to the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
It's in effect until midnight. It's a common occurrence in the
area and the smell is traditionally compared to rotten eggs.
