Date: Thu, 21 Feb 2008 15:55:49 -0800 Subject: arbcombo -- Report on Electrostatic Precipitators and Ionizers Now Available From: slum@arb.ca.gov Report on Electrostatic Precipitators and Ionizers Now Available This email is to notify you regarding two changes to our website. First, a report entitled, “Evaluation of Ozone Emissions from Portable Indoor Air Cleaners: Electrostatic Precipitators and Ionizers”, is now available at http://www.arb.ca.gov/research/indoor/ozone.htm under the subheading “Related ARB Air Cleaner Information.” ARB staff measured ozone emissions from several electrostatic precipitators and ionizers and generally found very low emissions. This report follows an earlier report on ozone emissions from air cleaners that intentionally generate ozone, released in May 2006 and available at the same website. The second change to our website is an updated timeframe for completion of our air cleaner regulation. We anticipate release of our final proposed regulation for a 15-day comment period in early March, 2008, and an effective date for the regulation in May, 2008. The updated webpage is at http://www.arb.ca.gov/research/indoor/aircleaners/aircleaners.htm For questions or comments regarding the regulation, please contact Peggy Jenkins, Manager, Indoor Exposure Assessment Section, California Air Resources Board, at mjenkins@arb.ca.gov or (916) 323-1504.
