Date: Fri, 4 Apr 2014 10:54:06 -0700 Subject: biogas -- Biogas/AB1900 Release of Biomethane Constituents of Concern Health Risk Calculator From: rhuft@arb.ca.gov The purpose of this list serve is to notify interested parties that staff of the Air Resources Board (ARB) has released an excel based calculator, “Biomethane Constituents of Concern Health Risk Calculator” to assist biomethane producers in determining the potential monitoring requirements of biomethane prepared for injection into the common carrier pipeline. AB 1900, authored by Assemblyman Mike Gatto, requires the CPUC to develop standards for constituents in biogas to protect human health and pipeline integrity and safety by December 31, 2013. In support of the CPUC standards development efforts, the ARB and OEHHA, in consultation with other State agencies, are to provide recommendations by May 15, 2013, on health based standards for constituents of concern in biomethane to be injected into the common carrier pipeline. ARB and OEHHA provided a report with the above information and recommendations to the CPUC on May 15, 2013 and the CPUC approved their final recommendations on January 16, 2014. The purpose of this list serve notice is to notify interested parties that the staffs of the Air Resources Board (ARB) and the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) have released an errata to a report providing recommendations to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) on health-based standards for biomethane injected into the common carrier pipeline. This report was prepared in response to Assembly Bill 1900, which was authored and chaptered into law in 2012. The errata provides clarifications to the report that was released on May 15, 2013.
