Date: Mon, 7 Feb 2011 11:24:03 -0800 Subject: gas-trans -- Oil and Natural Gas Production, Processing, and Storage Draft Protocols Now Available From: amrowka@arb.ca.gov Air Resources Board staff have posted two draft test protocols on our Oil and Natural Gas Production, Processing, and Storage website. It can be found at http://www.arb.ca.gov/cc/oil-gas/oil-gas.htm. The protocols have been developed in conjunction with stakeholders and are designed to quantify fugitive and vented carbon dioxide, methane, and VOC emissions from upstream oil & gas operations. Both protocols are currently being field tested and are still under development. We are seeking comments on both draft protocols by March 15, 2011. If you have any comments or questions, please contact Joseph Fischer at (916) 445-0071, or at joseph.fischer@arb.ca.gov. These draft protocols support the potential development of two AB 32 measures: “Oil and Natural Gas Production, Processing, and Storage”, and “Natural Gas Transmission and Distribution”. The first of these measures would seek to reduce venting and fugitive GHG and VOC emissions from the extraction, treatment, and storage of oil and natural gas, including underground natural gas storage. The second measure would reduce venting and fugitive GHG and VOC emissions from the transmission and distribution of natural gas through pipelines, including from compressor stations along the pipelines. ====================================================================== You are subscribed to the gas-trans mailing list.
