Date: Fri, 24 Feb 2006 09:02:25 -0800 Subject: indoor Indoor technology grants available From: slum@ARB.ca.gov The Air Resources Board's Innovative Clean Air Technologies (ICAT) grants program is seeking technology demonstration projects that will reduce indoor emissions and exposure, in addition to projects to reduce outdoor emissions and exposures. Please see the information below and at the website indicated below. Dear sir or madam: The California Air Resources Board’s Innovative Clean air Technologies (ICAT) grant program is soliciting applications for grants to be approved in November 2006. Instructions on how to apply are now available at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/research/icat/solicit.htm This year, the ARB has received additional funding for the ICAT program. As a result, we will give greater consideration this year to grants of larger amounts than historically awarded under ICAT. The increased funding is available for qualified projects involving innovative air-pollution-control technologies and air-monitoring technologies. An application in the form of a pre-proposal, as described in the instructions, must be e-mailed to ARB by March 31, 2005. Information about ICAT is at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/research/icat/icat.htm You may contact Kevin Cleary, ICAT manager, at (916) 323-1505 or kcleary@arb.ca.gov, if you have questions. Please forward this notice to your colleagues and associates who may be interested. ====================================================================== You are subscribed to the indoor mailing list. Staff of the Air Resources Board are releasing a report on their testing of ozone emissions from ozone-generating "air cleaners". ARB staff tested four devices that intentionally generate ozone in order to determine their emission rates and the resulting room concentrations. The Staff Report, “Evaluation of Ozone Emissions From Portable Indoor “Air Cleaners” That Intentionally Generate Ozone”, will be discussed at the May 25, 2006 meeting of the Board. The report and an updated list of ozone generators sold as "air purifiers" are available at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/research/indoor/ozone.htm Information on the Board meeting is available at http://www.arb.ca.gov/board/board.htm . If you have questions on the report or the list of ozone generators, please contact Tom Phillips of my staff at tphillip@arb.ca.gov or at 916-445-0753. Regards, /s/ Peggy L.
