The two-month delay will afford ARB and the District time to complete their staff work. It may also provide further clarity on the legal issues remaining following the most recent court decision on the District’s rules. To read about the court decision, go to: http://www.aqmd.gov/news1/2005/FleetRulesCooperDecisionPR.html In addition, the July Air Resources Board hearing, which was to be held at the District's Diamond Bar office, will now be held at the Cal/EPA building in Sacramento, in the Byron Sher Auditorium. While initial plans called for ARB to consider four of the District's fleet rules, ARB and the District have agreed to drop consideration of Rule 1186.1, the Less Polluting Sweeper rule. It is anticipated that the emission reduction benefits of Rule 1186.1 will be captured by the inclusion of sweepers in the ARB's Public On Road Fleets rule, which is scheduled for consideration in November. The three remaining District rules currently pending for September consideration are Rule 1192, Clean On-Road Transit Buses; Rule 1193, Clean On-Road Residential and Commercial Refuse Collection Vehicles; and Rule 1195, Clean On-Road School Buses. ====================================================================== You are subscribed to the ms-mailings mailing list.
