We have also recently activated a new web page for school administrators and others involved in school environmental health and air quality issues. It includes a short (2-page) advisory to schools on actions they can take now to improve the environmental conditions in their classrooms, both new and old, plus many web links to steer them to useful information and checklists. The Air Resources Board recently developed a comprehensive web page as a tool for school health information: http://www.arb.ca.gov/school.htm. This web page contains information on the recently completed Children's School Bus Exposure Study and the study on Environmental Health Conditions in Portable Classrooms. Information on the study findings and on simple low-cost actions schools can take to reduce exposure is included on the web page. Two videos, available for free, can to be viewed on the health effects of smog and the results of the Children's Health Study. All materials on this web page, including the videos, have been translated into Spanish. The November 2004 draft report will be reviewed by a scientific peer review panel and is now available for a second public comment period. Public comments previously submitted have also been forwarded to the peer-review panel.
