This document is an overview of the PM2.5 monitoring network funded in California under Section 103 of the Clean Air Act. Its purpose is to report California's progress in establishing the network and outline plans for future expansion, and will be our fourth annual report on this subject. The final document will be submitted to the Regional Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 9 by July 1, 2001, to fulfill the requirement in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (40 CFR), Part 58, for an annual network review. Please review the draft version of the 2001 Network Description. You can download a copy of the Network Description in Acrobat (pdf) format or Word 97 format from www.arb.ca.gov/aqd/pm25/pmfdsign.htm.
