More on the Summit In October 2003, the Air Resources Board adopted its 2003 State and Federal Strategy for the California SIP to assist the South Coast, San Joaquin Valley, the Broader Sacramento Metropolitan Area and other nonattainment districts in meeting federal clean air standards by the applicable deadlines. The Board wishes to solicit participation from a broad range of stakeholders in its efforts to identify, develop, and successfully implement new strategies to meet SIP emission reduction targets. You can participate in the Summit by joining us in person or by observing the proceedings via webcast at www.arb.ca.gov. We have organized the Summit into sessions by emission source categories, and, on the second day, by conceptual approaches to achieving pollution control. For each session, ARB staff will frame the discussion by presenting detailed information about the current and forecasted inventory for each source category, what is already planned in the way of emission control measures, and staff’s preliminary thinking about additional strategies that could be employed. Participants will then be invited to address ARB’s Executive team and share their ideas about how to achieve additional emission reductions by 2010.
