She began her career at the Air Resources Board in 1981 as a student assistant. She worked for many years as a Senior Air Pollution Specialist and was well respected for her vast contribution and expertise to California’s Vapor Recovery Program. Services are private. Laura did not realize how far advanced it was, nor did we, her family, until we talked with her doctor afterwards. My family hoped that everyone who would want to attend Laura's memorial would be able to, but we were also somewhat rushed and limited because some of our family was here from the east coast for only a short period of time. The last thing Laura would have wanted was to exclude anyone who wanted to attend from the services.
