Workgroup Meeting to Discuss "Weekend Effect" Research
September 6, 2000
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Air Resources Board
Lower Level Board Hearing Room and Teleconference
2020 L Street
Sacramento, California

This is our fifth technical workgroup meeting regarding the "weekend effect", the observation that ozone is often higher on weekends than on weekdays, while emissions are lower, in some air basins. It follows our previous working group meetings (September 22, 1999, November 16, 1999, March 1, 2000 and April 13, 2000) where we discussed ongoing research efforts. The California Air Resources Board, the South Coast Air Quality Management District, the Coordinating Research Council, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory all are conducting research either in-house or through contracts to further understand the phenomenon.

The purpose of these meetings is to coordinate the timing and funding of our research, share results, exchange ideas and elaborate on technical details. The agenda (msw97-21k) or (pdf - 7k) for this fifth meeting is also posted on the Web.

Those who are funding or conducting research in this area will benefit the most from this meeting. If you prefer to join us by phone, please use the dial-in information:
