We are pleased to announce the formation of the Project Expert Group (PEG) for the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Statewide Mobile Monitoring Initiative (SMMI). The SMMI is a critical effort to improve air quality across California using state-of-the-art mobile monitoring technologies to collect localized air quality data, particularly in communities overburdened by air pollution. As part of this initiative, the PEG will play an essential role in ensuring the program meets its goals with integrity and scientific rigor and ensure transparent coordination within the Consistently Nominated Communities (CNCs) for the Community Air Protection Program. The PEG will be comprised of community members from within the CNCs, as well as representatives from academia, local government, and industry.
