A Portable Engine work group meeting will be held on January 31, 2003. The purpose of the work group meeting is to update work group members on ARB activities related to portable engines and to discuss the proposed development of an air toxic control measure (ATCM) to reduce diesel particulate matter emissions from diesel-fired portable engines.

12/16/02:
Presentation for the December 9 & 10, 2002, Public Workshops Regarding Proposed Diesel Particulate Matter Control Measure for On-Road Heavy-Duty Diesel-Fueled Residential and Commercial Solid Waste Collection Vehicles is now available.

11/18/02:

The agenda is now available for the November 19, 2002, public workshop to discuss the possible regulatory approaches to reduce diesel particulate matter emissions from stationary diesel-fueled engines.

Updated draft proposed airborne toxic control measures for new and in-use stationary diesel-fueled engines are also available.

11/08/02:
A public workshop will be held, on December 9, 2002 in Sacramento and on December 10, 2002 in El Monte, to discuss the proposed diesel particulate matter control measure for on-road heavy-duty diesel-fueled residential and commercial solid waste collection vehicles.

11/07/02:
The Air Resources Board has verified the Donaldson Company diesel oxidation catalyst mufflers which can be used in engines used in on-road applications. Please go to the website for additional information and a list of engine families for which devices have been approved.

10/29/02:
A public workshop will be held at 9:30 AM (PST) on November 19, 2002, to discuss the possible regulatory approaches to reduce diesel particulate matter emissions from stationary diesel-fueled engines.

10/29/02:
The Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) Workgroup will meet at 1:30 PM (PST) on November 19, 2002, to discuss possible regulatory approaches to reduce diesel particulate matter emissions from TRUs.

9/18/02:
We are conducting a survey for stationary emergency/stand-by diesel-fueled engines.

9/3/02:

8/28/02:
The Air Resources Board has verified the Clean Air Partners diesel particulate filter (DPF), manufactured by Engelhard, for use with specific Power Systems Associates engines and to Caterpillar engines which have been converted to bi-fuel operation. Please go to the website for additional information and a list of engine families for which devices have been approved.

8/27/02:
The revised draft proposed airborne toxic control measures for new and existing stationary diesel-fueled engines are now available. These will be discussed at the September 4, 2002, public workshop.

8/26/02:

5/20/02:
The Solid Waste Collection Vehicle rule, which was scheduled for Board review in June 2002, has been delayed and we do not yet have a new date for Board review. We will post the new schedule for activities related to this regulation as soon as it is available.

5/14/02:
We have added summaries from the U.S. EPA Large Engine (On-Highway and Nonroad Compression-Ignition) Certification Data for 2001 Model Year, identifying engines which have PM emissions of < 0.149 g/bhp-hr.

An amendment and clarification to the Risk Management Guidance for the Permitting of New Stationary Diesel-Fueled Engines, October 2000, is available to view online.

4/4/02:
The Diesel Emission Control Strategy Verification Procedure Public
Hearing Notice and Staff Report are now available. The public hearing
regarding the diesel emission control strategy verification procedure
for on-road, off-road, and stationary diesel-fueled vehicles and
equipment has been scheduled to take place in Sacramento, California on
May 16, 2002. The public hearing notice and the staff report, along
